Epilepsy Foundation Aid August 25th, 2005
Eau Claire, Wis., August 25, 2005 - RJF Agencies provides aid to Epilepsy Foundation of Western Wisconsin
RJF Agencies, Inc., today announced the total amount of contributions to Eau Claire-based Epilepsy Foundation of Western Wisconsin, which were raised during its annual golf tournament held Aug. 1 at the Eau Claire Golf and Country Club. The insurance agency collected $13,285 from its partner insurance carriers during the event and presented the money to Epilepsy Foundation Executive Director Kristin Berg.
"This is truly a milestone for RJF and our event," Tournament Director and RJF Executive Vice President Tom Ziemann said. "Although we've raised money for various local charities through this tournament over the past several years, we've never come close to the $10,000 mark. We're very grateful to our partner carriers who chose to make this a priority and graciously contributed financially."
Last year the tournament raised nearly $7,000 for the Children's Museum of Eau Claire and an additional $800 for Northern Wisconsin Community Support Agency.
Kristin Berg of the Epilepsy Foundation of Western Wisconsin said the donation came at a very opportune time for the nonprofit agency. In addition to its regular mission of aiding and advocating on behalf of individuals afflicted with epilepsy, the organization is in the process of adding two part-time employees.
"This is a disease that is truly invasive in our society; 2.5 million people in the United States have epilepsy," Berg said. "Thanks to RJF's generosity, we can continue to help those in need as our organization continues to grow and pursue our mission."
