Minneapolis, August 19. 2005 - RJF Agencies named best medium-sized employer in Minnesota
The Business Journal of the Twin Cities today awarded RJF Agencies the distinction of being the top-ranked medium-sized employer in Minnesota. The annual Great Places to Work awards were listed in a special publication of The Business Journal, along with articles about the winning companies.
According to The Business Journal's article, "In an industry based on predictability, and often dubbed stuffy or stodgy, RJF Agencies Inc. sets itself apart. Described by employees as fun, fast-paced and nurturing, the company's vitality, culture and staff have propelled growth for this Plymouth-based property casualty, employee benefits and risk-management consulting agency."
Employees at each of 175 companies nominated for this award were confidentially surveyed to determine the winners. The survey measured overall employee attitudes toward their employer, including tangible elements, such as compensation, and intangibles, such as team effectiveness, trust in senior leaders, feeling valued and alignment with goals.
The article goes on to state: "Employees clearly respect the company leaders and credit them for the culture. Not one employee rated the senior leaders unfavorably in the Great Places survey. More than 90 percent of employees trust the leadership to lead the company to future success and agree the leaders are honest, trustworthy and demonstrate integrity."
RJF CEO Bill Jeatran said the culture of the company and the people who are attracted to RJF are directly responsible for RJF being chosen for this award. RJF President Tim Fleming agrees. He said one of the primary considerations when hiring new sales people is whether or not they exhibit a high level of integrity and humility, two of RJF's corporate values.
"We've had a lot of recognition this year, but this award means more to me than any of the others," Jeatran said. "I've always said, `It's about the people.' RJF is made up of the best and the brightest in the industry. Without them, we wouldn't have experienced the tremendous success we've seen over the past several years."
The Business Journal has also named the company one of the "50 Fastest Growing Private Companies in Minnesota" six times over the past seven years. RJF has also recently been listed as among the 100 "largest brokers of U.S. business," according to Business Insurance magazine. Jeatran and Fleming both agree the positive working environment spurned the growth. If employees feel motivated to strive for continuous improvement and work within a set of values, amazing results will follow.
