RJF Agencies' employees earn CIRMS designation

RJF Agencies employs all five designees in Minnesota.

MINNEAPOLIS (July 18, 2008)—Jackie Fink, Community Association Insurance Specialist, and Debbie Mee, Account Executive, earned the Community Insurance and Risk Management Specialist (CIRMS) designation from the Community Associations Institute (CAI), which will increase their access to the best information and experts in the community association industry,. RJF employs all five of the CIRMS-designated professionals in Minnesota; there are approximately 60 total in the United States.

Earning the CIRMS designation demonstrates Fink and Mee’s investment to the community association insurance market. Involvement in CAI, a requirement of the CIRMS designation, gives them greater access to the depth of knowledge, expertise and experience from others in the CAI, where they will continue to attend classes, lectures, and keep up on trends and emerging needs. All of this helps them become stronger advocates for community associations and better positions them to recommend the best solutions for their clients’ needs.

To be eligible for the designation, professionals must have at least five years of experience in the community association field, have been responsible for at least 25 association insurance programs in the past three years, and maintain a legal and ethical standing in the insurance industry.

Many RJF employees earn designations and certifications as part of their annual professional development goals. “Ongoing education is part of our employee development commitment at RJF,” said Bill Jeatran, CEO. “By constantly staying current with our field and improving our skills, we will provide the best possible service for our clients.”

A CIRMS-designated professional’s responsibilities include:
- Assuring that associations have examined their exposures to risk and their options to transfer or avoid those risks.

- Recommending insurance products and steps to reduce the risk itself or to transfer it to another party.

- Conducting cost benefit analyses on each option so community association board members have information on which to base decisions.

- Educating board members to raise their level of understanding, so they can make knowledgeable decisions, and to assist them in educating the association residents on how to avoid their own losses.

CAI is a national organization dedicated to fostering vibrant, responsive, competent community associations. CAI and its 55 state, regional and local chapters work on behalf of the professionals and volunteers engaged in the management and governance of homeowner and condominium associations, cooperatives and other planned communities. Some 50 million Americans live in the nation’s estimated 250,000 association-governed communities.
