Acquisition of Gallagher & Associates

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Marsh & McLennan Agency Acquires Gallagher & Associates, Inc.

New York, November 3, 2011 – Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC (MMA), a subsidiary of insurance broker Marsh Inc., today announced the acquisition of Gallagher & Associates Inc., a $1 million property and casualty insurance agency specializing in public school districts. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Gallagher & Associates, based in Blaine, Minnesota, will operate within RJF, a Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC company, adding to the depth of RJF’s property and casualty business. The transaction is the first complementary acquisition for RJF, which MMA acquired in January 2011 to serve as its upper Midwest hub.

Tom Gallagher, John Siffert and the rest of the Gallagher & Associates team will join RJF’s Minnesota office and continue in their current roles.

“Gallagher & Associates is a high-quality firm with a well-deserved reputation earned through years of exceptional client service and innovation to the public schools sector,” said Bill Jeatran, CEO of RJF/MMA. “We’re thrilled to welcome Tom, John, and the rest of Gallagher & Associates as they share the same core values of putting clients’ interests first and providing innovative business solutions, exceptional service, and expertise.”

“Joining RJF and Marsh & McLennan Agency is the next step in our firm’s evolution,” said Tom Gallagher, principal and founder of Gallagher & Associates. “As part of MMA, our clients will enjoy the same high-quality service they’ve come to expect from us. Additionally they’ll gain new and enhanced capabilities and resources from RJF/MMA to meet their needs.”

David Eslick, chairman and CEO of Marsh & McLennan Agency, said: “Adding high-quality talent and expertise from firms such as Gallagher & Associates is an integral part of Marsh & McLennan Agency’s strategy to build a preeminent national agency primarily serving the needs of the middle market.”
