HEALTH SAVINGS ACCOUNT PLAN LIMITATIONS
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) released the 2012 cost-of-living-adjusted HSA limits.
Maximum annual HSA contribution limit
- Self only coverage: $3,100 (previously $3,050)
- Family coverage: $6,250 (previously $6,150)
- Catch-up contribution for those age 55 or older: $1,000
Minimum annual deductible to qualify as a high deductible health plan
- Self only coverage: $1,200 (no change from prior year)
- Family coverage: $2,400 (no change from prior year)
Maximum annual out-of-pocket maximum to qualify as a high deductible health plan
- Self only coverage: $6,050 (previously $5,950)
- Family coverage: $12,100 (previously $11,900)
